On June 8th, about 50 YLS alumni and their guests had a remarkable evening at the recently-restored John Adams Courthouse in Boston. Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Margaret Marshall '76 and Massachusetts Appeals Court Associate Justice Gary S. Katzmann ‘79, led the group on a tour of the magnificent building, educating the group about the workings of the SJC and Appeals Court, as well as the history of the building and the renovation process. After the tour, former Massachusetts Appeals Court Chief Justice Christopher Armstrong ‘61 and Massachusetts Superior Court Associate Justice Judith Fabricant ‘80 each spoke to the group about the building and its renovation. Everyone agreed that the beauty of the building reflected the importance the Commonwealth places on the legal system, sending a wonderful message to the public when they are in the building. There was plenty of time for food, drinks, and conversation at the end of the evening.
