On Tuesday, May 11, 2010 the YLS Center for the Study of Corporate Law hosted an alumni breakfast program in New York, entitled “Citizens United: Mountain or Mole Hill?” In the case Citizens United v. FEC, the Supreme Court overturned the limits Congress placed on independent campaign expenditures by corporations and other entities. The panelists were Floyd Abrams ‘60, Cahill Gordon & Reindel, LLP; Heather Gerken, J. Skelly Wright Professor of Law, Yale Law School; Sam Issacharoff ‘83, Bonnie and Richard Reiss Professor of Constitutional Law, New York University; and Robert Post '77, YLS Dean and Sol & Lillian Goldman Professor of Law, was the moderator. The program ended with a lively Q&A.
