On July 27, more than 100 YLS alumni, Yale Club of Boston alumni, and their friends and families spent a terrific afternoon and evening together at Fenway Park. The group first explored the ball park and heard fun tales of Red Sox history as they watched batting practice from different vantage points, including on top of the Green Monster. The group then headed to the “Left Field Deck” area of the ball park, where they enjoyed a rooftop dinner of hamburgers and hotdogs. During dinner, Larry Lucchino ’71, President and CEO of the Boston Red Sox, came by to say hello to the group. He answered questions on all sorts of topics, including next year’s 100 year anniversary of Fenway Park – and to the delight of many, gave out fun Red Sox gifts to the kids. At 7:10 p.m., it was time to face off against the Kansas City Royals. On a picture perfect summer evening, the group enjoyed watching the Red Sox win 12-5. There clearly was lots of hitting, including a grand slam by David Ortiz!
