On a Tuesday evening approximately 144 alumni and their guests gathered at the Walter Kerr Theater to watch a performance of the highly acclaimed new play, Clybourne Park. Five days later, it won a Tony for Best play, and acting awards went to Audra McDonald, Nina Arianda, James Corden and Steve Kazee. The play is described as a wickedly funny and provocative look at race, real estate and volatile values. In addition, many alumni and their guests stayed in the theater after the play ended to hear members of the cast, the costume designer, and the director, talk about the play and answer questions. Arrangements were made by producer Eric Falkenstein ’94, included special seating, discounted tickets, and the post-show talkback.
