The group visited the Peace Palace, which houses the International Court of Justice. While there, the group had a tour, listened to a panel discussion comprised of 4 YLS alums on "How International Tribunals Promote Compliance with International Law," and participated in a question and answer session with Judge--and President of the Court--Rosalyn Higgins ' 62 J.S.D. There also was a visit to the International Criminal Court, a cocktail reception sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, visits to 3 art museums, and lots of delicious meals. The group, comprised of alumni from 12 different countries and all different years of graduation, greatly enjoyed getting to know each other as they explored the charming city of The Hague.

On June 6-7, almost 80 members and guests of the Class of 1956 met in Washington, DC for a spectacular minireunion. Senator Arlen Specter graciously hosted his classmates at a luncheon in the Mansfield Room of the Capitol Building and then led them on a tour of all the highlights of the building, including participants getting to sit in the Senate and House Chambers. The group also met with Justice Alito '75 at the Supreme Court and had a tour of the Museum of Natural History (thanks to former Smithsonian Secretary Michael Heyman) and the White House. There was much laughter and conversation over a class dinner, lunch, and cocktail reception. Manny Margolis worked closely with Senator Specter and his staff to pull together this unique gathering!
