On July 23, YLS alumni, students, admittees, and their guests gathered at The National Press Club for the annual Washington, D.C. reception and dinner. Honoree Greg Craig '72, White House Counsel and former partner at Williams & Connolly, gave a wonderfully spirited talk about his own experiences during his legal career. Guido Calabresi, judge on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, Sterling Professor Emeritus of Law and Professorial Lecturer in Law, and former dean of the Yale Law School, introduced the Law School's newly appointed dean, Robert C. Post '77, Dean and Sol & Lillian Goldman Professor of Law, and passed on the Law School two maces, one of which was Guido's great-great-grandfather-in-law's walking stick (the family had important YLS connections) and the other, representing the international links of the School, a Samburu African tribal stick to Dean Post.
